Iran not afraid of fatigued, helpless enemies, towers over them, says IRGC chief

The chief commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says the enemies of the Islamic Republic are in decline, stressing that Iran is not afraid of the enemys military power as the enemy has tested and is well aware of the Islamic Republics military might on the battlefield.

Major General Hossein Salami made the remarks on Thursday, while addressing a ceremony in the city of Qom to commemorate Irans top anti-terror General Qssem Soleimani and his companions, who were killed in a US terrorist attack in Iraq almost two years ago.

"We are not afraid of the enemy because we tower over them. They have tested us in the field, so we are not worried about the military power of the enemy," Salami said.

"The more we look into the depths of the enemy, the more fatigue and helplessness we see in them, and we are sure that this process will continue," he stated.

According to Salami, the enemy thought that by assassinating General Soleimani, they would be able to break the resistance, but the resistance forces continue this path more earnestly.

General Soleimani, commander of the IRGCs Quds Force, was assassinated near Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020, in a drone strike directly ordered by former US president Donald Trump. Soleimanis companions, including Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, deputy commander of Iraqs Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), were also martyred in the attack.

Since the assassination, Iraqi resistance forces have ramped up pressure on the US military to leave their country, targeting American bases and forces on numerous occasions, and at one point pushing the Americans to ask them to "just leave us alone."

Earlier this year, Baghdad and Washington reached an agreement on ending the presence of all US combat troops in Iraq by the end of the year.

The US military declared the end of its combat mission in Iraq this month, but resistance forces remain bent on expelling all American forces, including those who have stayed in the Arab country on the pretext of training Iraqi forces or playing an advisory role.

"The enemy, by assassinating Martyr Soleimani, sought to undermine the resistance front, but contrary to all of its equations [and] thanks to the blood of this martyr, the resistance has become stronger and more powerful than ever," General Salami said.

He further stressed that the enemies of the Islamic Republic are declining, saying, "just look at the area of American influence and that of the [Islamic] Revolution compared to the past."

The Iranian commander also drew a comparison between Irans collected demeanor and that of Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH), who emerged from his own enemys fire untouched.

"We are in the middle of a global battle. That we are calm is [like] the story of Ibrahim Khalilullah, on whom God cooled the fire," said General Salami, adding, "It is Gods will to cool the fire on the Islamic Revolution."
